Volunteer Points System

Implement a points system for volunteers to enhance incentives. Both Scotland and Wales have adopted this approach, allowing volunteers to gain priority access and discounts for competitions and memberships.

Earning points

Earning points

Volunteer points are determined based on the role and duration:

  • Set up or Take down → 1 points each
  • Set up and Take down → 2 points total
  • Session role (refereeing, platform crew, table team, MC) → 1 point
  • Ad hoc volunteering (outside competition) → 1–3 points (committee decides based on size of task)

Points stack, so by volunteering for two sessions, you would earn 4 points.

Committee roles

Executive and Committee members receive 3 points for each quarter of service after 6 months, with points retroactively awarded from that point.

Banking points

Points can be banked for 24 months. After that, they will expire 24 months after being earned.
